Create Careers Page For Web.com Site

Create Careers Page For Web.com Site

Web.com is a straightforward platform for creating websites, often favored by small businesses for its ease of use and affordability. It offers essential tools for building basic web pages but falls short when it comes to specialized pages like a careers portal. With limited templates, basic CMS features, and no built-in Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Web.com can make the process of creating and managing job listings unnecessarily complex. Additionally, the absence of scalable hosting options can impact the performance and growth of your careers page as your hiring needs expand.

SubPage, on the other hand, provides a tailored solution for careers pages with all the features you need in one place. From built-in application tracking to seamless job listing management and integrations with platforms like LinkedIn and Zapier, SubPage simplifies the process for HR teams and ensures an excellent experience for job seekers.

Follow these steps to add a functional careers page with applicant tracking to your Web. com-hosted website:

Steps to create a careers page

1Log in to your SubPage account and enter the main domain of your Web.com website (e.g., mywebsite.com).

2First, unpublish the default "SubPage domain" hosting in the Connect Domain sidebar. Then, from the dropdown menu, select "Custom Domain".

3A suitable subdomain name, such as "careers" or "jobs," should be entered, followed by clicking "Save and Publish." For this subdomain to be verified by your Web.com domain host, the CNAME record provided in the sidebar will need to be added to your domain host’s DNS settings.

4If your site is hosted with Web.com's default custom domain, the domain is provided via GoDaddy, log in to your GoDaddy account at godaddy.com and follow the CNAME setup instructions in this article.

5If your custom domain is hosted with another provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap), consult their knowledge base for relevant instructions on how to add custom CNAME records for a subdomain.

6Once the CNAME record has been added, allow up to 24 hours for the DNS changes to fully propagate.

7After propagation is complete, the Connect Domain sidebar in the SubPage.app should be accessed again, and "Save and Publish" clicked.

8If verification is successful, the career page will be accessible at the subdomain URL (e.g., mywebsite.careers.com), displaying all content as configured.

If your domain is not verified even after the CNAME setup, Kindly contact SubPage support for further assistance.

Why shouldn’t you consider Web.com for your Careers Page portal?

👎 Web.com offers a narrow range of design and layout options for careers pages, restricting customization and creative control.

👎 The careers page templates available on Web.com are minimal, often requiring users to build job boards or career pages from the ground up.

👎 Web.com’s CMS lacks specialized features for job listings, making it challenging to create a smooth, user-friendly experience for job seekers.

👎 Web.com does not include an ATS, forcing users to rely on third-party tools for candidate management, which can complicate the hiring process.

👎Web.com does not offer cloud, dedicated, or VPS hosting plans, which could limit scalability and performance as your career page grows.
